PROFESSIONAL

Cornell Law Library

One of the most widely used and respected legal resources on the web, the Cornell Law Library Legal Information Institute page at www.law.cornell.edu is an information repository. The page contains easily navigable links to a multitude of sties and resources including court opinions, code, areas of practice, case law, and current developments.

Massachusetts Bar Association

Representative to 18,000 legal professionals across the Commonwealth, the MBA’s webpage, www.massbar.org, offers professionals and members of the public alike information about developments in the law, articles and publications, updates on legislative matters, and an events calendar.

Boston Bar Association

Since its founding in 1761, the BBA has been as much a civic participant as a professional organization working to enhance the effectiveness of the law while raising the public’s understanding of the importance of the country’s legal institutions. The BBA’s webpage, www.bostonbar.org, contains information about the state Legislature, the judicial system, the pulse of the law, and the happenings of its 9000 members.

U.S. Environmental Protection Agency

At www.epa.gov, you will find the text to all of our nation’s environmental laws and regulations as well as context and updates on the challenges and successes of preserving our natural heritage. As the federal agency charged with the management of brownfields, the EPA provides information about available grants and current projects at www.epa.gov/brownfields. Resources are also available on compliance matters at www.epa.gov/compliance, waste policy at www.epa.gov/ebtpages/wastes, and water issues at www.epa/gov/ow/index.

Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection

The DEP is the state agency charged with the responsibility of protecting the Commonwealth’s natural resources. Much like the EPA, the DEP’s webpage, www.state.ma.us/dep/dephome, is organized by major environmental issues such as brownfields (www.state.ma.us/dep/bwsc/brownfld) and solid waste (www.state.ma.us/dep/wastesitecleanup). The complexity of water issues is reflected in the number of pages on such matters as wastewater, stormwater, waterways (www.state.ma.us/dep/brp/waterway/waterway), Title V, and wetlands (www.state.ma.us/dep/brp/ww/rpwwhome).
